We’re now deep in the fall season, with just a few weeks until Thanksgiving. Whether you spend it with family or friends this year (or opt for a smaller gathering with your “quaranteam”), we hope you have a safe and happy holiday!
Soon afterward will be #GivingTuesday, the annual effort encouraging charitable giving as the holiday season begins. We reflect on the gifts Christ has bestowed upon us and how we might share them with others less fortunate. TouchPoint’s new giving platform easily facilitates that generosity with beautiful two-click giving! Check it out and learn how you can incorporate this into your year-end tithes and offerings.

Migration to New Online Giving
Our new giving platform is live! You can switch to it as soon as you are ready. After you have configured and tested new Giving Pages, the final step is to migrate your recurring giving schedules to the new platform.
With recurring pledges you can empower your donors to automatically renew their pledges.
Hide Pledge Feature
Two new controls are available for hiding pledge features. A newly-added custom access setting allows you to hide the Pledges tab on people’s profiles. If you need to retain the Pledges tab but hide the Make a Pledge button — perhaps because, while you do use pledges, there is no current pledge campaign — you can use an administration setting to do so.
Giving-Related Search Conditions Changing
Effective early next week (week of November 15), a few giving-related Search Builder conditions will be changing due to the underlying database modifications that support the new giving pages.
Custom Giving URLs
In addition to the best database giving experience in the industry, our new giving module also allows you to create custom links specific to your team’s needs. In general, your standard giving URL might look like this:
But you can make the link more specific using custom link controls. For example, your form may combine recurring giving, one time giving, and pledging, but you want to send givers directly to the recurring giving section. You would modify your URL to look like this:
Now let’s say you’re encouraging your congregation to set up weekly gifts. You can further modify the URL to be:
Finally, say your giving campaign encourages each giver to set up a $10 weekly recurring gift. Your URL would now be:
As you’re migrating from TouchPoint’s old giving pages to the new giving pages, be sure to specify a redirect link on the old giving organizations.
Why is this important? Believe it or not, you may have givers that have bookmarked your old giving pages or access the giving pages through an old email they’ve saved. A redirect link on the old giving organizations will ensure those individuals are guided to the appropriate new pages.
New Recurring Frequencies
Your recurring givers can already choose from the four standard frequencies: Weekly, Biweekly, Semi-Monthly, and Monthly. But you can also choose to enable an option for Quarterly giving and an option for Annual giving.
You can activate these frequencies on the Admin > Settings page in the Finance > Recurring section.
